Random Rant: Mean Comments

This will be quick, short, and to the point.  In the book blogging world there is no need for mean comments.  I just don't get it.  I do this for fun and if you find something on my blog you don't like then don't follow me!  I don't need a lecture--I'm an adult--and I don't need the negativity on my blog.  It's really that simple.

***This has nothing to do with recent comments.  I was reading an old post and noticed a comment I never read in the past.  Obviously it annoyed me enough to write this.  Is this common?  Does anyone else find mean comments on their blogs every now and then?***

End of rant.

So sorry about this. In the past I've gotten some mean comments and even mean emails.. but I just realized you just have to ignore it. Haters are going to hate! I hope they go away from your blog soon too.

Jillian--Thanks for the good-vibes! :) It happened nearly a year ago...I just noticed it now :( It's still not happening, it's just frustrating. I hope none of my comments never come across as so rude.

I've never had any mean ones.

Once, when I was a guest on VampChix (for my book), someone left comment about their book. That was pretty rude. Michele Hauf didn't know about it, and she removed it as soon as she learned about it.

I don't get that many comments anyway. Hopefully you'll be able to just move on and forget it. Some people are just rude, I guess.

I've gotten snide comments on things like older reviews basically saying how horrible I am for not liking the book, blah, blah, blah. The internet fosters dicks. That's why I have a caveat in my policy that states if you're a dick, I reserve the right to dick you back. Trolls will not be tolerated.

Hahahahaha...

I say it's your right to not like a book. Maybe also your saying something about a book that isn't worth paying for (by other readers) serves a purpose. I'm presuming the "dicks" are either the author or the author's "fans"???

There are some pretty awful ones out there. I've seen where other bloggers have warned about these.

Lorelei and Donna--That happened to me once and I guess she was a big fan of the author and the book. I just didn't like it. (The I mean.)

I haven't gotten any mean comments on my blog but I have on my Goodreads' reviews. I always want to say something back, I'm always up for a fight, but I just ignore them.
